Grade Me Recipe Contest

The Contest:
Participants are to create side dish recipes using at least one Bush’s Best® product. Recipes will be submitted on GradeMeRecipeContest.com where users will grade each recipe on an A – F scale.
This recipe contest will have two types of winners:
- User-selected
- Bush Brothers & Company selected
Timeframe:
- Recipe submissions may be entered starting March 1, 2010 and ending at 11:59 p.m. CST May 14, 2010.
- Online voting ends at 11:59 p.m. CST May 31, 2010.
- Winners will be notified by June 11, 2010.
Entry Limitations:
- No mechanically reproduced, illegible, incoherent, unusable, unsuitable, or incomplete entries, or those that do not comply with the criteria will be accepted.
- Bush Brothers & Company is not responsible for typographical errors, or any other errors in entries.
Entry Details:
- Participants must enter their recipe online at GradeMeRecipeContest.com. No mail-in entries will be accepted.
- Entry must be entrant’s original recipe.
- Entry may not have been previously published, or have won any other awards.
- Entrant must be the person who created and submitted the recipe.
- Entries will be broken down into 1 recipe category for judging: side dishes.
- A minimum of 1 Bush’s Best® product must be used in each recipe. For Bush’s Best® product information contact your local distributor or visit BushBeanFoodservice.com.
- A working digital picture of the finished plated product is required. Each photo must be in JPG or GIF format with the maximum file size of 4MB.
- Instructions must include step-by-step preparation and cooking and/or assembly instructions, cooking times, and cooking heat levels. Each recipe should specify the means of cooking method and any appropriate temperatures.
- Garnish will be a factor. Adding or suggesting garnishes adds to the value of the recipe (and will aid in deciding any tiebreakers).
- All recipes submitted become property of Bush Brothers & Company and may be used in future promotional materials and for other marketing uses.
- Bush Brothers & Company assumes no responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, human error or technical malfunctions, inability to access the website, failure of any computer equipment or software, or any combination thereof, or for lost, stolen, late, illegible, or misdirected entries.
- You may enter as often as you wish.
Judging and Determination of Winners:
- User-selected winner will be left to the discretion of website voters based off of their own judging criteria. An average score will be accumulated to calculate the winner.
- Bush Brothers & Company selected winner will be judged equally according to its originality, ease of use, taste appeal and pairing with grilled flavors.
- Each entry will be scored by a panel of judges, under the supervision of Bush Brothers & Company.
- 5 entrants with the top-scoring entries will be declared finalist and will be made in a Bush Brothers & Company test kitchen. The winner will be determined based on a panel of judges who taste and score each entry based on judging criteria previously mentioned.
- Becoming a finalist is subject to validation and verification of eligibility and compliance with the official rules.
- The decisions of the judges are final and binding on all materials relating to this contest. Finalist will be determined by June 4, 2010.
Prizes:
- Two grand prizes (one from each category) will be awarded.
- User-selected grand prize consists of an XL Big Green Egg® with BBQ Guys stainless steel grill cart (Total value: $2,100.00).
- Bush Brothers & Company selected prize consists of $5,000.00.
- Both winners will be announced via press release to the winners’ local media outlets and to foodservice publications. Winners (and their recipes) will be featured in a spread ad of the August Restaurant Business and Foodservice Director Magazines.
- Winning recipes, along with selected others, will also be featured in future Bush Brothers & Company promotional materials and online. Full credit will be given to the recipe creator in each instance.
- All taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Prizes are non-transferable.
Eligibility:
- Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, age 18 or older at time of entry.
- The contest is open to restaurant, hotel and institutional chefs and other foodservice operators.
- Employees, directors and officers, and their immediate families (spouses, parents, children, siblings, and their respective spouses), and the respective household members, of Bush Brothers & Company, affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, agents, advertising and promotion agencies, are not eligible to participate.
- Promotion is subject to all federal, state, and local laws.
- U.S. law governs this contest.
- Bush Brothers & Company reserves the right to disqualify participants who violate these official rules or interfere with this contest in any manner.
